When you sign a wind lease with a wind developer you are actually losing your property rights. If you live next to someone who signs a wind lease and places wind turbines on their property, once the turbines start turning, those turbines become a power plant. Just like any power plant they may then put power lines and substations on YOUR land by claiming eminent domain (even though you never signed a wind lease).
