They are industrial plants. Still feel warm and fuzzy?
Because electricity generation has special legal status for land use regulations, industrial wind projects are being sited in areas where other industrial developments would never be allowed.
This is simple to think about, but the wind industry never talks about it, so I will. When your neighbor puts wind turbines on his land, then POOF…it becomes a power plant and gets all the regulations to allow substations, power lines, ON YOUR LAND if needed. When will people realize this? It gets special legal status!
Would you want an industrial plant in your BACK YARD? A power plant?
This is what the ridge law was written to prevent! No industrialization of our mountain ridges!
Let our NC leaders know that we want the ridges to continue to be protected by the 1983 Mountain Ridge Protection Act or Ridge Law.
